Terms & conditions of participation

- Scope of Application
These Terms & Conditions apply to all seminars, masterclasses, and training programs offered by Stefan Fritz Piano Academy.
By registering for a seminar, participants agree to these terms.
- Contract Formation
A binding contract is concluded when:
- the participant submits a registration, and
- the Academy confirms participation in writing (email confirmation).
Participation is subject to availability.
- Nature of Training
All seminars are conducted in person in Berlin, Germany.
Participants receive hands-on training on original Steinway & Sons grand pianos under professional supervision.
Training involves practical work requiring technical precision, care, and adherence to instructions.
- Participation Requirements
Participants must possess the professional background and technical competence required for advanced piano technician training.
The Academy reserves the right to decline participation if requirements are not met.
- Fees & Payment
Participation requires either:
- full payment, or
- payment of a non-refundable deposit
The remaining balance must be paid before the seminar begins.
Failure to complete payment may result in cancellation of participation.
- Cancellation by Participant
Deposit
Deposits are non-refundable.
Cancellation
If a participant cancels:
- the deposit remains non-refundable
- paid balances may be credited toward a future seminar at the Academy’s discretion
Replacement Participant
A replacement participant may attend instead, provided they meet the seminar requirements.
- Cancellation or Changes by the Academy
The Academy reserves the right to cancel or reschedule seminars due to:
- insufficient participant numbers
- illness of the instructor
- technical issues
- force majeure events
In such cases, participants may choose:
- a full refund, or
- transfer to a future seminar date.
Further claims are excluded.
- Supervision & Safety
Participants receive safety instructions and must follow all guidance provided.
Work on instruments is permitted only under supervision and according to instructions.
Failure to follow safety instructions may result in exclusion from the seminar without refund.
- Liability & Responsibility
Participants work on valuable instruments requiring professional care.
Participants are liable for damages caused by:
- improper handling
- violation of instructions
- gross negligence or intentional misconduct
The Academy is liable only for damages resulting from:
- intent
- gross negligence
Liability for slight negligence is excluded to the extent permitted by law.
No liability is assumed for personal belongings.
- Insurance
Participants are responsible for their own:
- health insurance
- travel insurance
- liability insurance
- Hotel & Travel Arrangements
If assistance with hotel arrangements is provided, the accommodation contract is concluded directly between the participant and the hotel.
The Academy assumes no liability for accommodation or travel services.
- Intellectual Property & Training Materials
All training materials, techniques, and methods are provided exclusively for personal professional use.
Reproduction, distribution, or commercial use without written permission is prohibited.
- Photo & Video Documentation
The Academy may take photographs or video recordings during seminars for documentation and promotional purposes.
Participants may object to this use in writing before the seminar begins.
- Force Majeure
The Academy is not responsible for failure to perform obligations due to events beyond reasonable control, including:
- natural disasters
- travel restrictions
- governmental actions
- pandemics
- Applicable Law & Jurisdiction
German law applies.
Place of jurisdiction is Berlin, Germany.
