Masterclass
For professionals who are not satisfied with compromises and strive for excellence in craftsmanship.
With the Steinway damper system, there are no additional parts on the tangent to adjust the damper to “damper half-way” and “damper timing”. It's technically simple, durable and reliable, but really difficult to adjust. Many technicians tell me that they don't like working on the dampers.
I think this is mainly because there is hardly any training for it.
When do I need to replace the damper felts? How do I properly crank a transition damper? How do I eliminate disturbing damper noises?
In this seminar you will learn everything about the Steinway damper and sostenuto system so that you are prepared for all problems during repairs, new installations and on the concert stage.
The course concludes with an intensive learning experience and you will then be able to do this independently at home. You can take the modified damping system home with you and install it in another Steinway grand piano with only minor adjustments.

Deep- learning and intensive hands-on with your own
